Orbital Clarity Challenge The Orbital Clarity Challenge will select up to four winners, each of whom will receive up to $500,000 in prizes across three phases. Phase 1 is open to all eligible applicants. Phase 2 is open to Phase 1 winners, and Phase 3 is open to Phase 2 winners. In addition to monetary prizes, NASA intends to offer an opportunity for a flight test in orbit at no cost to the winner(s) of Phase 3.
Phase 1:
Application period
Up to four winners will each receive $200,000 and an invitation to advance to Phase 2.
Phase 2:
Final design and engineering model build
Phase 2 winners have the opportunity to receive an additional $200,000 each and an invitation to advance to Phase 3.
Phase 3:
Complete build for flight readiness
Phase 3 winners have the opportunity to receive an additional $100,000 each, as well as a potential opportunity for a flight test at no cost.
